Composition:
Each 1 ml of Befloxin contains 100 mg Befloxacin Mesylate.
Specifications:
Pefloxacin is a member of the quinolones. It is a synthetic antimicrobial agent, which belongs to the fluoroquinolone generation. It has a broad spectrum of activity against most gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria and can be successfully used in a variety of infections. Pefloxacin is a bactericidal compound because it inhibits bacterial DNA synthesis, which is needed to copy and replicate the DNA necessary for the formation of bacteria.
Indications:
Befloxacin is increasingly used as a veterinary preparation for the treatment of microbial infections, especially infections of the gastrointestinal and urogenital tracts.
Side effects:
Not for use on chicks during incubation.
Dosage and use:
- Pigeons: Put 5 drops in the pigeon’s mouth daily for two days, or 10 ml of Befloxin liquid in 1 liter of water.
- Birds: Add 3 drops to 30 ml of drinking water for two days. In case of salmonella infection: Use daily for five days instead of two days.
